Scratch A4 - The Poet & the Echo

Scratch A4 Winter '24 is opening to submissions from September 14th!

For the first time, the competition will be themed. Please enter a <1000 word piece inspired by a stanza or line from a poem of your choice!

The 6 shortlisted writers will get to read their stories at Scratch '24 Winter in Soho, London on Saturday December 7th.

Looking for inspiration? The Poet & the Echo features amazing stories - by Jessie Greengrass, Leila Aboulela, Jenni Fagan, David Almond and others - written in response to classic poems. The book has 25% off while the competition is open.

When you receive the confirmation email, forward it on - attaching your entry - to scratcha4entries@gmail.com.
The extract from the poem will not count in your 1000 word count.
Please make sure you can make it to Soho, London on the evening of Saturday, December 7th.
