Writing the Five Senses, the Imaginative and Surreal
In this online course, you will learn how to incorporate taste, sight, smell and tactility into your writing to create an evocative experience for the reader no matter the genre you write in.
 
We will explore similes, the object correlative, writing food, furnishing a narrative and how to make sentences clear but vivid. We will also expand and exercise your imagination through surreal and uncanny exercises. Taking inspiration from realists to surrealists, from fairytales to novels, from Evelyn Waugh to A.S. Byatt and Leonora Carrington.
